Lean On Me Foundation & Miss Universe Cayman Visit Fairbanks Prison

Representatives from The Lean on Me Foundation and Miss Universe Cayman Islands Organisation visited the HMP Fairbanks prison on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Commenting on the event, Mrs Derri Lee of both organisations said:

This has been an initiative by the Lean of Me Foundation since 2008.  Over the past 9 years they have included contestants and titleholders from the Miss Universe Cayman pageant as many of them are inspiring motivational speakers that have touching backstories and endless aspirations.

As we aim to champion women with a purpose in Cayman we feel that visiting the prisons with messages of hope will somehow change the inmates mindsets and their lives which may ultimately help them to encourage others not to make the decisions that led them to be incarcerated.  We all have a purpose in life and we as women have to rise above our adversities.
