United Against Bullying: Brunching with a Purpose

United Against Bullying (UAB), in collaboration with Miss Universe Cayman Islands, hosted the inspiring “Brunching with a Purpose” at The Westin Grand Cayman. The event, themed around standing stronger together, featured a keynote speech by Rohan “Quite” Perry on the critical topic of bullying.

Both Raegan Rutty, Miss Universe Cayman Islands 2024, and National Director Derri Lee shared heartfelt personal stories and insights on overcoming bullying and standing tall. Our incredible MC, Miss Universe Cayman Islands 2023, Ileann Powery, also gave a compelling presentation.

Janet Young, UAB’s founder, shared her motivation for establishing the organization, driven by her own child’s experience with bullying back in 2018.

It was a day filled with unity, support, and powerful messages of strength, and we’re grateful to everyone who attended and contributed.

Planning for Youth Success Conference

Miss Universe Cayman Islands, Ileann Powery, attended the Planning for Youth Success Conference, where she gave a speech on behalf of The United Against Bullying Foundation on Peaceful Conflict Resolution. In addition to these presentations, this event allowed different organizations who support young people in the Cayman Islands to set up booths to display their services throughout the day.

Ileann Powery and the National Director of the Miss Universe Cayman Islands Organization, Derri Lee, had a real and open conversation at the Planning for Youth Success Conference. They shared their honest experiences and thoughts about bullying in hopes of encouraging others to start their own conversation on the matter. Bringing awareness to the topic of bullying can help others heal and let them know they are not alone.
