Ileann Powery has been crowned Miss Universe Cayman Islands.

Powery, 25, of West Bay beat out four other contestants to claim the coveted crown on Saturday 2 Sept., in front of a capacity ballroom at the Westin resort.

This year’s Miss Universe Cayman Islands contestants travelled across the west of Grand Cayman in the annual motorcade on Saturday, 12 Aug.

Miss Universe Cayman Islands Chloe Powery-Doxey is not only a beauty queen, but the George Town native also rules on the basketball court as a guard on the national women’s team.

Last month, Powery-Doxey, 26, was part of the basketball team’s record-making run to a silver medal at the Island Games in Guernsey.

This year’s Miss Universe Cayman Islands contestants took part in a sashing ceremony on Friday evening, in the run-up to the annual international beauty pageant.
